Och, now that Ive finished the Ghost Story volume - which held excitingly good stories, some even funny, and by authors of fame like Robert Louis Stevenson, Walter de la Mare, Frederick Forsyth, Edgar Allen Poe etc., I now submerge myself again in poetry. But this time, instead of tongue-in-cheek stuff, Im actually concentrating on verse and rhyme, kind of, and on good things. CONCENTRATING. Hard thing to do. Rhyming, fairly easy. Verse and rhythm, not so easy. But Ive sent in about 7 poems to 2 different websites, one Afrikaans and the other English. All accepted. A bit worrying though, because it seems too easy. Nevertheless it is fun and a great pastime. And it will keep me out of mischief when its quiet at the veggie shop. Writing, writing, writing. Time then flies. Soon the poetic mood will swing over to something else. The name-board for instance, then the sewing, then the tackling of a Legends of the Pond short story/poetry book (with help), then the script (with help)... or whichever way my furiously fast brain goes a-running ahead of myself. Oish. Crazy thing is that more than once I end up watching a movie or series on TV, or read a book. Kind of like a inner rebellion against all the cluttering ideas. Please tell me this is normal!
