Oct. 14th - Firehall update: Thanksgivings long weekend was busy at the firehall as we completed moving the Improvement District and Fire Department offices out of the second floor suites. There were multitudes of tasks to complete during the week prior, including getting electricity to the atcos, wiring in the telephones and internet, hooking up water and sewer, dismantling, moving, and reassembling the shelving units, kitchen facilities, computer servers, desks, etc. into the temporary trailer units... The volume of archived documents is staggering, not to mention hundreds of bins of items that make up the actual fire department operational equipment that have been boxed up and moved out. Its been a little humbling to acknowledge how many items it takes to operate the fire department and our offices! Were up and running in our temporary offices just in time for opening of burning season on October 15th. The office will be open at 9am! Cheers, Steve DeRousie, Fire Chief
