Oct 1st AMIC Processor Group Circular No: 89- 14 Subject: Export Statistics for September 2014 As predicted in Prime Cuts over the last two weeks, beef shipments to the US have continued at elevated levels, up over 76% on the first 9 months of last year. Beef exports to the US in September at 47,238 tonnes is the highest monthly shipment level to the US since 2000 and I suspect the highest in the last 50 years if ever. The temporary cessation of beef shipments to Russia remains evident. Beef shipments to China and Indonesia have levelled off. Beef shipments to Korea are up over 10% on last year. Lamb exports have hit new records for the 9 month period to September and are running at 13% above last year. Last year was a record year. Lamb exports to the US are running close to 20% above the same time last year. Lamb exports for the month of September at 21,084 tonnes would be a record monthly shipment for lamb I believe.
