Oct. 29, 2013 Announcements Coach Roberson will be by the bus entrance on Tuesday after school to collect cross country uniforms. Win A Technology Grant from the Our Faith STO! - Take part in the Our Faith, Our Children, Our Future STO Facebook Challenge! In order to be eligible for one of three technology grants, our school must have 50 votes (A vote consists of a page like and a post on the STO Facebook wall of the name and city of your school). 1. A school must have 50 likes to be eligible. · All eligible schools will be entered into a drawing to win one of three prizes: o $500 Technology Grant o $250 Technology Grant o $250 Technology Grant Deadline: October 31, 2013 Fall Play Backstage Help Needed: For those of you interested in volunteering to help backstage in the Fall play, The Iliad, the Odyssey, and all of Greek Mythology in 99 Minutes or Less there will be a sign up sheet in the main office on both Wednesday and Thursday. The 2013 Can Food Drive is fast approaching Sailors! Our kick off assembly is on Thursday October 31st. With many great events coming up, we hope everybody gets involved. T-Shirts are coming soon! Thursday October 31st will be a $2.00 out of uniform day for the canned food drive. Since it is Halloween, you may wear a costume for $3.00, only a dollar extra! Remember your costume needs to be appropriate, and face masks and face paint are not allowed. The Coffee Shop is this Sunday, November 3rd! Support the Columbus students who will be performing and come join us. The money will go towards the canned food drive fundraiser. The event will be in the commons from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Admission is $4. Dont miss out!! Dodgeball Tnt Sign-up: The dodgeball tournament is on November 10th from 5-8 in the gym. Sign up sheets are in the office. Spots are filling up quickly so get your team together and sign up. Math Contests are coming up: Anyone interested in participating in a math tournament this upcoming Saturday should talk to Mr. Will or Mr. Hoefer today. Football players are reminded that Tuesday the JV Sophomores will be turning in their equipment after school in the locker room and on Wednesday the Varsity will be turning in equipment after school. Any question contact Mr. Meeks. Pizza Ranch Night to support the Music Department: The music department is having a pizza ranch night on Monday November 4th from 5-8pm. The Music Dept will receive a share of the sales that night. Please come out and support the music department for there trip in 2015. Pizza Ranch Night to support Girls Basketball: Come out and support Coach Mark Sinwell & Dick Shons and the 2013/14 Columbus Girls Basketball team at Pizza Ranch on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. The Basketball team will receive a percentage of the sales that night both dine in or carry out! The Team will be busing tables, so come out have dinner, chat with the coaches, meet the girls and join the fun! We hope to see you at Pizza Ranch on November 6th! CAMPUS MINISTRY: The sign-up sheet for Mass of Remembrance is up, and we need students to help make this mass extra meaningful for our guests. If you would like to help, stop by Mr. Larsens office to sign up! There are several opportunities to help! 1) Liturgy Committee will meet today right after school. 2) Rosary Club will meet Wednesday morning before school at 7am in the chapel. St. Ambrose University Engineering department will host our 8th year Exploring Engineering event on Thursday, November 7th at the Rogalski Center on the St. Ambrose campus in Davenport, IA. Doors open at 5:30PM, activities start at 6PM and will conclude by8PM. In addition to informal conversations with engineers from industry while eating pizza, there will be brief presentations in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Information about College Admissions and Financial Aid, and hands-on activities with wind turbines. Finally, Tom Wind, owner and president of Wind Utility Company, will present on the The Future of Wind Energy.
