October 11, 2014 Dear Anglers, The San Diego Team Series held the Jeffery Ingram & Russell Mendez Memorial Fund Raiser Tournament at Lake El Capitan on Saturday October 11, 2014. We had a field of 84 teams that came to fish the memorial event in order to help raise money for the two families. The turnout was a great success since we were going to cap the entry at 80 teams but we can never turn down any teams since this for the families. The San Diego fishing community really stepped up for this event by their participation and donations from tackle shops, fishing clubs, San Diego Bass Council, vendors, and individuals. This event was not about the tournament so much as it was for the fund raising for the Ingram and Mendez Families. The fund raising for this tournament was spearheaded by Andy Paluczak and his son Jackson, whom were able to pull together the best raffle prizes any tournament has every seen. They were able to get the entire fishing community involved by asking for donations from fishing apparel, quality baits, rods & reels, fishing trip, guide trips, and a grand prize donation of a Taylor Guitar. We would like to recognize Gene Estabrook from East County Bait & Tackle for his role in this event. East County Bait & Tackle provided us staffing for the event, chairs and microphone setup which help tremendously. ECBT provided numerous donations for the raffle prizes from rod, reels, tackle, apparel and cash donation of $2,075.00. Gene was one of the originators of this event and has taken personal effort to go above and beyond to help out the Ingram and Mendez Family. We would like to recognize El Cajon Ford and Paul Leader for their contribution of to the fishing community and this event. Mr. Leader stepped up to the plate and donated $2,075.00 to this event. El Cajon Ford has always gone over and above when it comes to the fishing community. We would like to thank Marco Fenelli (Frank Motors), Rob Hughes (Aire Force Heating & Air) and Jon & Wade Strelic (Advanced Plumbing) for donating the BBQ at the end of the event. There was over 250 People present at the awards ceremony and to feed this many people is not cheap. We greatly appreciate their support for this memorial tournament it was greatly appreciated. We would like to thank all the teams that have participated in the memorial tournament and supporting the San Diego Team Series.
