October 11 – Day 63 After a very rough night Joyce seemed to - TopicsExpress

October 11 – Day 63 After a very rough night Joyce seemed to be more relaxed or exhausted from being up all last night and using all her strength to fight the people who are concerned with her health and above all her safety. She has a sitter that watches her 24 hours a day to make sure she doesn’t pull at anything that might be a danger to her health. I am glad for this so now when I and Justina stay the night we don’t have to try to sleep with one eye open watching her. With the sitter we can get some rest when we shut our eyes. I came back to Jacksonville to do the weekly chores and Justina will stay with Joyce tonight. I left a little earlier otherwise I would have stayed till Justina showed up but the sitter takes a little stress off of me and Joyce is never alone in her room. I have talked with the doctor and he agrees the trach is the source of the aggravation but he and his colleagues are split down the middle on which is a priority to Joyce’s recovery. He told me I am asking all the right questions he just doesn’t have all the answers that the team is debating right now. They want to be absolutely sure that she is medically sound before such a procedure and h agrees it is the source of the aggravation but they are debating when it should be done. I feel it is limiting her therapy and if it wasn’t there she could concentrate on the other therapies to aid in her recovery. Only time will answer these questions for us. With God’s help to comfort and heal her all we can do is pray for a recovery. Continue to pray and send positive thoughts so that things continue to progress and that God keeps putting his loving hands on Joyce to heal her.
