October 13, 2014 prompt: Beneath a Morphine Moon, art by Traci Siler (Gary) The number of great artists on Facebook is amazing; and I am lucky enough to include many of them as friends. TPOS also has many very talented artists among members, including our own Kathabela Wilson. I like prompts and tanka based up the works of these artists. Today, our prompt is based on the work of a relatively new painter, Traci Siler. She is not a new artist - her photography and accompanying haiku are well-known. She also sketches. But this year, she received an acrylic painting set for her birthday and she has gone to town producing over a dozen paintings. One of the best is a tribute to a book of her haiga published by member Ed Bremson; and titled with the books title, Beneath a Morphine Moon. The painting is a abstract landscape - in my mind, a view from sea over dunes and interior landscape toward mountains. Others will see something different in the painting. What do you see?
