October 22 - TIRED OF SITTING ON THE SIDELINES? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ive been an evangelist for over 50 years, and Ive discovered that most Christians are living dull, unexciting lives. The average Christian feels he is living on the sidelines. He knows God is doing great things through superstars of the Gospel--men and women who are leading thousands to Christ. But the average Christian feels he is left out of the action. Very few Christians consider themselves to be truly partners with God. Most are spectators instead of participants in what God is trying to accomplish in peoples lives. They are saved enough to get to heaven, but not blessed enough to enjoy it. Church attendance is a drag and they are void of the joy of Jesus Christ that should be theirs. Ill never forget the concern of a businessman, a deacon in his church, who approached me at the end of one of our crusades. He said, Lowell, its going to kill me to go back to my church after this crusade. Its the same old boring ritual week after week. Ill just sit on the bench for another five years, and nothing really exciting is going to happen. This man was crushed to think the excitement of the crusade had passed. He had seen families brought together, couples reunited and individual lives healed and changed dramatically by Gods Spirit and power. Now what was he to do? If, like this deacon, your enthusiasm for life has waned and youre searching for a new dimension in your relationship with God, find out what God is doing and get in the middle of the action! Become a partner with God in His great redemptive plan to reach the lost. KEY VERSE: The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few (Mathew 9:37).
