October 22, 2014 The Committee on National Cultural Communities deliberated on HB 4220 An Act Recognizing and institutionalizing indigenous peoples (IPs) educational systems within the Philippine educational systems, establishing the guidelines for the accreditation, management and evaluation of IP schools, appropriating the necessary government funds, financial assistance, incentives and support therefor. Congressman Nic co-authored and expressed his support for HB 4220 and move for its approval which was duly seconded and approved. He also told the committee that he will be filing a similar Bill for IPs taking up masterals and doctorate degree.
