October 26 (adapted from J.Smith) “Am I in God’s place?” Genesis 30v2 All our mercies are from God, and our miseries are from ourselves. We often depart from God, and put friends in His place. Both ourselves and our friends are insufficient. No one can take God’s place - not the richest , the wisest, the kindest, nor the nearest relative or friend! Our God can take the place of all. He can be instead of father, husband, child, wealth and health. As you look to Him, He will never fail you nor forsake you .Never, never put anyone in God’s place ‘To Your Glory You will bring me With Your counsel as my guide. I have none but You in heaven: All on earth I lay aside. Flesh and heart may fail, but ever God my portion will abide.’ (‘Sing Psalms’ 73v24-26)
