October 30,1973 I received the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal - TopicsExpress

October 30,1973 I received the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior 40 years ago. I remember the guilty weight of sin had been removed from my heart as I experienced Gods forgiveness. (I describe it as a picture of Charles Atlas letting go of the world that was on his shoulders). I realized that I could never be good enough to make things right with a Holy God, I had to receive HIS grace and mercy if I wanted to be reconciled to HIM. I also remember starting to think differently about certain priorities in my life. What I did for entertainment, how I treated other people, the language I used, How I did my job for my employer, etc. I even found a great love for reading the Bible and praying not just for myself but sincerely praying for other people and especially that they might know the Savior and HIS forgiveness. Many things have happened over the last 40 years, some heartaches, some very struggling times, and more trust in the Person who I am supposed to be a reflection of since I am in HIS family now. I also remember a new desire to be in the local church with other believers not just to be going to church but to learn how to fight the daily battle in this world. I will never be completely perfect till I am in the presence of my Holy Savior, but it is important to let HIM be seen in my life. For years I would watch and listen to people who claimed to be Christian but their actions and language had never changed to reflect a New Nature that the Scripture teach each person has that has been redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb. 2 Corinthians 5:17-Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Ephesians 2:8-10 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Some people are satisfied with just going to church and having a denomination they can linked with, but they do not reflect a changed life the Savior gives. ! What a sad day it will be if people do not repent and trust in IN the Finished Work of Christ Matthew 7: 21 - 23 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ So thankful I am not trusting in a Religion, but have a Relationship with a Holy God (NOT because of what I can do) because Jesus was willing to give HIS life for me. Sincerely, In Christ Albert Kellar, Jr.
