October 5 Quarter Finals Matches Pao vs Jeremy First game is fast paced game. Pao against Jeremy is the name, consistency and speed is the game. Both players have quick footwork and very consistent return. They tried to outwit each other by playing their smooth sailing drop shots were both players run and return the ball. You will see both players running all over the court, either on the baseline or in the net. At the first set Pao was in an early lead but Jeremy tried to comeback but got short as Pao took the first set at 6-4. The second set has the same game scenario as the first set, both players are still running and doing their dropshots but Pao was faster and took the match. Pao defeated Jeremy 6-4 6-4. Richard vs Geovan This is a rematch of the elimination match between Richard and Geovan. Richard who is still unbeaten until now, fight off Geovan who had gave some trouble to Richard in their first meeting. Geovan who used his wonderful backhand shot to get an advantage over Richard had a very game but the undefeated Richard did not back off though the flawless shots was a bit off today he was still able to take the first set 6-2. The second set Geovan was able to level up his game but it was the same for Richard as he took the second set and the match. Richard defeated Geovan 6-2 6-3. David vs Camille The last class C quarterfinals is between the young thundering David and Camille who had one of the beautiful lob shot in the club. Camille tried to outlast David by counterpunching him but the young David did not budge as he completely dominated his opponent on both sets using his strong serve and topspin forehand. David defeated Camille 6-0 6-0. JDL vs Yuko The next match is the match of the day. JDL one of our club veteran faces yet one of his strongest opponent in the face of Yuko who had a great run in the elimination round losing only once. Yuko who is know for her powerful serves and smashes tried to dominated her opponent but JDL took advantage with his long drives and splendid drop shots. He got an early lead and took off with the first set at 6-2. The second set shows a fight of stamina as both players took on another level a never ending back and forth battle. Both players doesnt want to give up until they forced each other into a tiebreak, this time Yuko wasted no time and took the second set 6(0)-7. The third set was jawdropping as they hang onto each other and didnt give an inch, but as they say only one will go home with the big W. JDL defeated Yuko 6-2 6(0) 10-8. Cesar vs Luke The last match of the quarter final round changed the view of the Class A Tournament. The former champion Cesar faced off with the hard hitting Luke. At the start of the first set, Luke displayed an astounding performance, overpowering Cesar in everyway. Hitting powerful serves and forehand drives made Cesar helpless at 4-0. But the former champion will not go down without putting up a fight trying to comeback in this game using his tenacious gameplay and scored two straight points to make it to 4-2. But Luke did not want his opponent to come closer and finished the first set 6-2. The second set became a close match as Cesar used his own power forehand and put up a fight against the mighty power of Luke. Luke seems getting a bit tired but his power is still in good condition and finished off the former champion and advance to the semis. Luke defeated Cesar 6-2 6-4.
