October is Architecture Month! If youre studying to be an architect or designer or are simply a fan of great architecture, check out the cool events planned by AIA Orlando, the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Oct. 16th, for example, is PechaKucha night at The Venue on Virginia Avenue. PechaKucha is a presentation style that originated in Tokyo in which 20 slides are shown for 30 seconds each for a concise, fast-paced event where young designers showcase their work and exchange ideas. On Oct. 22nd, AIA will host Bim Bam Boom! a charrette-style shoot-out where top design firms compete to put together a building design. The event takes place at Valencia West Campus from 6-9 p.m.
