October is Rett Syndrome Awareness Month. Rett Syndrome is one of just a handful of disorders that predominantly affect females. Rett Syndrome is just as devastating, and affects a potential one in 5,000 girls. Condemned to an entire lifetime of struggles, these girls have been robbed of their ability to speak, walk, crawl, use their hands. They depend on others for every part of their day. Complications include seizures, sudden death in their sleep and scoliosis. Today, there is no cure. Please help us raise awareness, support families, and fund research by participating in our VIRTUAL 5K. This means you can run it anywhere! Run your own race at your own pace. You can use the treadmill, run outside, your own course or even another race. Fee: $25 registration includes virtual 5K entry, printable race bib and medal What next... 1. Register for this event by clicking on the "Buy Now" button below. 2. Print your bib! (We will email it to you!) 3. You have the entire month of October to run/walk a 5K. This is based on the "honor system." 4. Medals will be mailed at the end of October to all registrants. 5. Have someone take you picture with your bib so we can post on our Facebook page. Your support is a victory for our cause! Proceeds from Run for Alice will benefit Team Alice - Girl Power 2 Cure (girlpower2cure.org), a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
