October is here, and so is Dogs of Harken! This month we have Aubrey, close companion of Harken Senior Engineer Greg Hartlmeier. Aubrey is a champion show dog, currently the #1 Brittany in the USA. He participates in the Competition Obedience category. His show name is Jayhawkers Lucky Jack UDX5 OM7, named after Lucky Jack Aubrey from the Master and Commander book and film series. -He has won the Brittany National Specialty 3 times. -UDX5 means he has earned the Utility Dog Excellent title 5 times. -OM7 means he had earned the Obedience Master title 7 times. Greg and Aubrey are currently working toward the lifetime goal of earning the OTCh title: Obedience Trial Champion. He is 3/4 of the way there, and will be the 9th Britt to do so. Besides all the competitive work, his highest priority is swimming after ducks and geese!
