Octopussy Review. If youre a James Bond actor one of the most important lessons you need to follow is not to over stay your welcome and Octopussy is the perfect example of that. Roger Moore is really looking old in this movie unfortunately. One thing that did help was the fact that returning Bond Girl Maud Adams (from The Man With The Golden Gun) was closer to Roger Moores age. It does have a great plot and great action sequences and the villain is great when he says Octopussys name twice in a row. Its so obvious that he enjoys saying it. If someone else had been playing James Bond in this film is would have been much better. According to a documentary Roger Moore returned to the role after Sean Connery returned for the unofficial Bond film Never Say Never Again (which I will not be reviewing as its a remake of Thunderball) and the filmmakers of Octopussy wanted to avoid confusion and keep the continuity going for the official series.
