Ode To Shy People HAIL! all the shy folk of every creed and color The trumpets blaze oe´r the carpet walkway As you slowly bump into one another The pedestal stands ready With crackling microphone But so does your bedroom with the lights off Where you could be so wonderfully alone They just don´t understand They think shy is just distasteful They don´t realize that ¨painfully shy¨ Actually is painful Your so cool when your alone Calm, relaxed and centered You walk up to the doorway And begin to quiver as you enter You look them in the eye Your words so heavy as they´re uttered As you watch the prep talk you prepared for Silently slip into the gutter So I do now hereby decree That this day shall be honored As Painfully Shy People´s Day My meekly sisters and my brothers One celebrates by doing That which she fears the most That sickly burning fire That deathly, ghastly ghost That shocking, frozen corpse grip You just want to run away But today´s the day you don´t Today is National Shy People´s Day If your reading this today Then today´s the day you celebrate By feeling that flame of Fear And then doing it anyway An Ode to the Shy People To all throughout the land I do humbly bow before Thee For our time is now at hand. - Sir C.S.
