Odisha | Loksabha | Results 2014| 1. Bargarh-Pravas Kumar Singh (BJD) defeated BJP candidate Subhash Chauhan by 19k votes. 2. Juel Oram of BJP defeated Padmashri Former Indian Hockey Team captain & Rajyasabha MP Dillip Tirkey by 12k votes. 3. Nagendra Ku Pradhan of BJD defeated former BJP state president Suresh Pujari by 23k votes. 4. Shakuntala Laguri the wife of mining scam star the 200 MP won on a BJD ticket by a thumping margin of 1.6 lacs from Keonjhar defeating the BJP candidate Anant Nayak. 5. Ramchandra Hanshda (BJD) defeated the popular Dr.Napole Raghu Murmu of BJP by huge margin of 1.2 Lacs & won from Mayurbhanj. 6. Ravindra Ku.Jena (BJD) surprisingly defeated the popular leader Pratap Sadhangi(BJP) by 80k votes. Cabinet minister Shrikant Jena with 1.6 lacs votes was at third position. 7. Arjun Charan Sethi (BJD) won from Bhadrak and defeated nearest candidate Sangram Keshari Jena of Congress by 1.15 Lacs votes. 8. Rita Tarai (BJD) defeated Ashok Das of Congress by 1.6 Lacs votes from Jajpur. 9. Tathagat Satapathy, the son of former CM Nandini Satapathy & owner of Dharitri newspaper won by 1.4 Lacs votes defeating Rudra Narayan Paani (BJP)from Dhenkanal constituency. 10. Dewar Yuvraj Kalikesh Singhdeo defeated Bhabhiji Sangita Singhdeo, the wife of current BJP state President KV Singhdeo by 92k votes. 11. Kalhandi Raja Saheb Arka Keshari Deo defeated BJP candidate Pradipta Nayak by 54k votes.His father however was from BJP till his recent death. 12. Balabhadra Majhi (BJD) defeated Pradip Kumar Majhi(Congress)by 2k votes only.It is the talk of the town my train mate former BJP MP from the same place Parshuram Majhi (BJP)actually had given a tacit support and remained quiet and secured some 1.3 Lacs. After all family connection & also everything is fair in politics. 13. Kandhamal constituency BJD candidate defeated Harihar Karan (Congress) by a margin of 1.8Lacs.BJP is wholly & solely responsible for this. Though Ashok Sahu would have comfortably won it & made all ground work with fast against Laxmanananda Case Verdict delay & was popular in the locality, he didn’t get a ticket from there & was forced to contest from Puri.He lost from there also securing just 2lacs votes. 14. The vibrant supreme court advocate & spokesperson Pinaki Mishra won with 2.5 Lacs margin defeating Sucharita Mohanty of Congress who got 2.4 Lacs votes followed by an able but wasted leader Ashok Sahu of BJP Securing just 2.14lacs votes. 15. Bhatruhari Mahatab won from Cuttack once again and yester year’s popular actress Aparajita Mohanty couldn’t stop him. The journalist cum Prajatantra Editor with a huge Margin of 3 Lacs claimed the seat again. 16. Baijayant Panda(BJD),the popular TV spokesperson, industrialist, pilot and the so called CM in the making is unbeatable due to his public connect & service in his constituency,kendrapada won by 2 lacs margin defeating Dharanidhar Nayak of Congress. 17. Kulamani Samal of BJD won from Jagatsinghpur by defeating the Congress candidate Bibhu Tarai by 2.33 Lacs margin. 18. Chicken Baba Prasanna Patasani (BJD) won by 1.87 Lacs margin defeating the BJP Youth president Prithwiraj Harichandan. Popular, veteran actor,the Amitabh Bacchan of Odia film industry, Bijay Mohanty has to be satisfied with a poor third position. If he would have been a BJP candidate instead of Congress, I am sure it would have been interesting. 19. Aska is the prestigious loksabha constituency because Naveen Patnaik the CM was an MP from here & hinjli comes after it from where he is the sitting MLA.BJD candidate Ladu Kishore Swain defeated nearest rival from Congress Sri Loknath Rath by a huge margin of 3 Lacs. 20. Former CM of Congress Giridhar Gamango lost by a thin margin of just 7k votes to the MLA who was in news globally when Maoists kidnapped him in a dramatic manner & later released,the BJD MLA Jhinaa Hikakka. 21. My constituency Berhampur yet again voted the Odia superstar actor Siddhant Mahapatra of BJD defeating Chandrasekhar Sahu of Congress who is a great leader for his developmental activities in the past with a margin of 1.40Lacs.The humble, gentleman leader and candidate of BJP, the former deputy Speaker Ramchandra Panda can manage just 1.55 Lacs votes. To summarize,BJP secured Second Place in 15 seats,won just one whereas Congress was nearest rival in only 5 seats. The Rs.2 rice will be a factor and I was warning everybody that this will be embraced by the Odisha voters and they will ignore Naveen Babus governments recent corruptions & the mining,chit fund scams even couldnt stop him. But post poll ground reports were encouraging and was in favor of BJP but still BJD defied all predictions. BJD-BJP alliance or a maha menta with the others gang of Samta Kranti Dal,Ama Odisha Party etc.could have been an alternative. Anyway time to congratulate Naveen Patnaik for his fourth time chief minister-ship.He must be thanking natural disasters cause each and every time it comes,he manages the rehabilitation & relief work in a superb manner and wins hearts and support & vote successfully. 14 years before,political analysts were saying, he is a rookie but look how he eliminated all the enemies strategically and turned into a dark horse king maker politician but then NaMo Tsunami dashed his hopes cause he was thinking that if NDA will be short of majority,he can bargain for his support & get special status for his state & also can be saved from the Mining scam & Chit Fund scam inquiries.
