Odyssey Magazines Review of Awakening the Heart - One can only praise those, who with great integrity but with quavering hearts, embark of the tricky adventure of awakening to a higher aspect of their own being. It happens with artists of all kinds, many healers, and, given the opportunity, many others as well. Once it was the odd person, here and there, for whom this journey became an unavoidable necessity. Some have become our great teachers, like Buddha and Jeshua, others have gone through their journeys in solitude, the world none the wiser for what they have endured and perfected in their being. Now, it would seem, humanity as a collective is required to make this step – in part or in whole, individually and together – or we stand a real chance of falling at this critical hurdle. Not everything in this book will necessarily make sense to everyone who may read it on a purely technical level. For example, are there really 12 DNA strands in each one of us and somehow, scientists have simply missed this critical fact? Or are there only two strands (as per the conventional view) but a large proportion of the genes of which (over 90%) are not understood as playing an active role in how we work, effectively rendering them in the minds of many geneticists as ‘junk DNA’, literal leftovers from our evolution? It’s not a purely theoretical question because, in this author’s view and that of many others writing and working in the ‘spiritual’ context, the 12-strand version makes sense. The problem is that there is absolutely no scientific evidence to support this notion. Maybe the problem is one of semantics. Non-scientific people might find it easier to think in terms of more strands of DNA, rather than more of our existing DNA elements being activated by a higher frequency of consciousness flowing through them. Given an acceptance of energy vibrations having a profound effect, not only on our thinking, but on a biological level, activating and actively changing how our cells function, the latter interpretation may well stand for some who need their understanding to rely on a more conventional scientific footing. If so, many with a scientific bent might be put off from an otherwise worthy effort aimed at encouraging the growing number of people facing what seem to be major life challenges to work through these challenges/opportunities using, perhaps, a book like this to help them on their way. It is important to remember that we collectively only know what we know – and quite a lot of that isn’t absolute ‘fact’ but rather an interpretation based on what we currently understand and which may well, in due course, change. Then, with new or more refined information, we will know something else. A better way of putting that would be that we understand in terms of what we know but later on, when we know more, we will understand better yet. This applies to both ourselves and the greater world we live in. This author, working with her understanding, which is based in part on an astrological framework, offers her experience and guidance of how to engage with a higher, more empowered version of your self. In so far as this is what you may need, and given an ability to work within her framework of understanding, this book may prove useful to many another Soul engaged right now in a difficult and deeply challenging round of experience.
