Of all practices of the modern day church system, one of the most destructive is the practice of pastors taking the place of the Holy Spirit and making themselves mediators between God and men, which takes place in the form of a sermon of their opinions. I don’t see anywhere in the Bible where God set up pastors to be like little Popes that declare the meaning of the Bible. That is the job of the Holy Spirit. If the church worked properly, pastors would stop inserting their opinions and start teaching people how to be born again, filled with the Holy Spirit, and able to hear from God through the Holy Spirit. This would be the proper way to run a church. But, this way of pastors telling people what to believe and competing with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit is ungodly and harmful to the growth of Christians. Believe what you want, but we need to get back to being led by God through the Holy Spirit, not by a man at a pulpit.
