Of all the evil bastards in the pet food industry, Hills is among the worst. Their marketing plan has successfully enlisted thousands of lazy, greedy veterinarians to sell their garbage product. And since your trusted vet is recommending it (and SELLING IT), you feel secure that youre doing the right thing. Let me suggest that the right thing would be to educate your veterinarian about the damage he is doing. (Is that perverted or what, that YOU have to educate your veterinarian?) If he or she doesnt respond, the next best thing is to punch him or her in the face just as hard as you can. Theyre getting rich by ensuring that your pet has less than a good food. Now, there are worse foods than Hills. (It gets 3 of 5 stars on the Dog Food Advisors independent analysis scale.) But several of the primary ingredients are corn and corn products. Not only weak in nutritional value, but known to be a major problem for pet allergies. At any rate, its no surprise to me that Hills has just had to issue a recall of one of its products for possible salmonella bacteria.
