Of all the repeated films on tv one has irritated and enthralled me above all other.Not the best by any means,but the one that has been like an itch I have been unable to scratch for 45 years,......it was released in 1968,.....Where Eagles Dare.....Richard Burton,Clint Eastwood,Patrick Wymark who reluctantly does that ill equpped sky dive at the end.You know the one. Watched it dozens of times, alone,with others,when alert,tired,troubled,clear headed,sober,drunk and in between.....and Im fine till the scene in the main hall in the castle,where Burton produces his notebooks and begins his double dealing speech. Every time,no matter how hard I concentrate,I lose it and end up as confused as Eastwood. Its like an old friend.I will always give it a go .......and worry If I ever follow that scene I may never watch it again.Which would never do.
