Of course, Luke Bryan sits atop the charts yet again this week - TopicsExpress

Of course, Luke Bryan sits atop the charts yet again this week with ‘That’s My Kind of Night’, and his album ‘Crash My Party’. The only chart he hasn’t yet conquered is Country Airplay, which unfortunately has equally been besmirched by Florida Georgia Line’s ‘Round Here’, now at #1. The former is up to #8 on the radio chart, however, and will inevitably get to #1 very soon. In addition ‘Crash My Party’ the single is still riding high at #8 on Country Digital Songs and #11 on Hot Country Songs. In regards the latter, Florida Georgia Line’s ‘Round Here’ seems to not yet be at the peak of its success. It’s at #5 on Country Digital Songs and #3 on Hot Country Songs, while naturally ‘Cruise’ tops it holding onto #2 on both charts. ‘Here’s To The Good Times’ also looks unmoveable at #3 on Top Country Albums. Then we have Jason Aldean’s ‘Night Train’; #4 across Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay, and #6 on Country Digital Songs, with the album of the same name up to #7 this week. Jason could have reached his peak with this one but there could be a couple more higher positions in it. With the announcement of his debut album being released at the end of the month, Tyler Farr is flying high with ‘Redneck Crazy’, the title track. At #5, #7 and #4 on Hot Country Songs, Country Airplay and Country Digital Songs respectively, this newcomer looks set to have a great deal of success in country music. Another newcomer is Thomas Rhett; ‘It Goes Like This’ is not his first single, but the title track of his upcoming debut album again, now at #6 on Hot Country Songs, #9 on Country Airplay and #3 on Country Digital Songs. Meanwhile Keith Urban drops to #2 on Country Airplay this week with ‘Little Bit of Everything’, falling to #7 on Hot Country Songs but rising six places on Country Digital Songs to make the top 10. However, I imagine it will receive a huge leap when ‘Fuse’ places on the albums chart next week. Speaking of the albums chart, Blake Shelton’s ‘Based On A True Story…’ is back up to #2, while his latest single ‘Mine Would Be You’ starts making a real mark, #7 on Country Digital Songs, #15 on Country Airplay and #10 on Hot Country Songs. In addition, his hit of the summer, ‘Boys Round Here’, featuring Pistol Annies is still at #12 on Country Digital Songs and #20 on Hot Country Songs. Fan clearly haven’t grown tired of it yet. Fans also haven’t grown tired of Easton Corbin’s ‘All Over The Road’. Released last January, it’s slowly but surely crawled up the charts, and is now at #3 on Country Airplay, as well as #9 on Hot Country Songs, although rather more embarrassingly #25 on Country Digital Songs. Elsewhere Tim McGraw is faring well with ‘Southern Girl’. While his CMA-nominated ‘Highway Don’t Care’ (with Taylor Swift and Keith Urban) is down to #23 on Hot Country Songs and #24 on Country Digital Songs but still fighting it out, ‘Southern Girl’ is poised to take the top 10, up to #12 on Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs, and #9 on Country Digital Songs. Billy Currington’s also showing his face, ‘Hey Girl’ now at #6 on Country Airplay and #8 on Hot Country Songs, while Country Digital Songs is a slightly different matter at #13. New releases include Frank Foster’s ‘Southern Soul’, coming in at #11 on Top Country Albums, Craig Morgan’s ‘The Journey (Livin’ Hits)’, debuting just below Frank at #12, and Reckless Kelly’s ‘Long Night Moon’, at #22. Honorable mentions go to Justin Moore, Lady Antebellum, Lee Brice, Brett Eldredge, Randy Houser, Chris Young, Darius Rucker and Hunter Hayes. It’s a bit sad how there’s essentially no women present here… Come back next Thursday for another Billboard Chart Roundup from me! - See more at: nashvillegab/2013/09/chart-roundup-week-of-september-21st-2013.html#more
