Of course, once Garuda got the advantage over Hanuman during Ramas avatara, when Rama Lakshman was in the war with Ravana. Rama and Laksman were both tied down by snakes. then Brahma intimated to them to think about Garuda. Garuda came, and by the approach of Garuda, all the snakes fled away, and Ramachandra was satisfied, propitiated by Garudas service, and asked him to beg a boon. Some benediction. And Gaurda asked, I know that you are my Master, Krishna, Narayana but you are now in another form, where Hanuman is your exclusive servant. But if you are satisfied with my service in the least, I pray that you please show the figure of my own beloved Lord Krishna. Then Ramachandra said, Hanuman is there, he cant tolerate such a thing. Garuda said, That does not matter, I shall manage. So, Garuda, with his winged plumes, created a temporary shed and there Ramachandra showed his Krishna murti to Garuda. Of course, Hanuman could understand, and he promised, I shall also take revenge, when my Lord Ram comes as Krishna. And Hanuman did so. Without the interference of Hanuman, Garuda managed, but how Hanuman took the revenge, that is a serious talk. Once Garuda was asked by Krishna to collect 108 blue lotuses, and Garuda went to collect them. It may be had from that in a lake which is close to Hanumans place. Garuda is going. Hanuman knew this, and on the way, he fell like an old small monkey. He was there just on the way. Garuda was passing over, but it is not good etiquette to go over, crossing over any living being, so Garuda asked the monkey, Go away from my path. I am going, and I dont like to have to jump over you. You please remove yourself from my path. And you are not an ordinary monkey, but Hanuman himself. But Hanuman had a motive, a design. He said, I am an old monkey. I have no power to move my limbs. Please go some other zig zag way or remove me from my position. I cant move. I am too old. I dont feel, i feel uneasiness. Then Garuda again requested with some urge, No, no, you dont know who I am. Go away! Clear my way--otherwise I shall teach you a lesson. What can I do? I am unable, infirm, I cant move my limbs. So, dont be angry with me. What can I do? Then Garuda again came, threatening, but the same answer came. What am I to do with Hanuman? He thought. I shall have to move you from the path, he said. Yes, said Hanuman, you may do so if you like. Garuda said, I wont touch you. By the fluttering of my wings I shall move you far away. Yes, said Hanuman, you may do so if you like. Then Garuda began to flap his wings. With the kind of jet power that the British used to attack the Falkland Islands with, Garuda began to flutter his wings and saw, What is this? The fluttering of my wings can remove so many trees but this small monkey cant be removed. Whats the matter? And then he saw, that not to speak of taking his body away, but even the hairs on his body were not shivering. Whats the matter? Then he had to come out with all his force and with his beak he caught him and tried, but all failed. Then the play of Garuda is finished, and then Hanuman arose and caught hold of him and put him under his armpit. No no, I have come, I have to come to collect some of these blue lotuses for my Lord. He wants it. Who are you? Why are you disturbing me in this way? Hanuman said, Dont worry about the blue lotuses. I can manage. Keeping Garuda under his armpit, Hanuman took the blue lotuses and went to Dwaraka and began to head towards Dwaraka. Krishna knows everything. He knew that such things were about to happen. He was staying in Dwaraka at the time, and Rukmini and Satyabhama were present with him. As Hanuman approached the gates of Dwaraka, Krishna began discussing Hanumans devotion to Rama with Rukmini and Satyabhama. When Hanuman reached Dwaraka, he found the Sudarshan cakra guarding the gate. Hanuman approached the gate with the slogan, Jaya Rama, Jaya, Rama, Sita Rama Jaya Rama. In the meantime, Krishna told Satyabhama, My devotee Hanuman is approaching. Since he worships Sita and Rama, I will take the figure of Ramachandra. You take the figure of Sita. Satyabhama could not take the role of any other consort. Krishna said, You cant do it? I shall ask Rukmini. Then Rukmini came forward and took the figure of Sita. Then they considered, Hanuman is almost here! What about Satyabhama? Krishna turned to Satyabhama and said, You go under the throne and hide yourself. The Sudarshana cakra was revolving near the gate as a watchman. Hanuman was chanting, Jaya Rama, Jaya Rama. The Sudarshana Cakra told him, There is no Rama here! Where are you going, monkey? Hanuman said, No, no, my Rama is here--you do not understand. Sudarshan said, No! I cannot allow you to enter. Then Hanuman just extended his finger within the center of the Sudarsana cakra and suddenly made it so big that the cakra lost its twirling movement and became a tight ring on the finger of Hanuman. And so Hanuman entered Dwaraka, with Garuda under his armpit, the blue lotuses in his hand, and the Sudarshana chakra on his finger. When he entered the palace where Krishna was, he saw Rukmini as Sita and Krishna as Rama. Hanuman saw, My Lord is here! He began to offer those blue lotuses to the holy feet of Ramachandra, while chanting Sita Rama, Sita Rama. Then after that, he began asking, My Lord, who is that moving under the throne? What is this? What is this? No, no, said Krishna. You need not mind that. Garuda, the Sudarshana Cakra, and Satyabhama had some conceit, some sort of pride in their mind in their respective zones, and it was the will of Krishna to give some check to these three. And in this way, with the help of Hanuman, Krishna managed to check their pride. Krishna has a higher position than Ramachandra, but his attendants met some dishonor at the hands of Hanuman. So Hanumans dasya rasa, his mellow of servitude, is very intensified and famous. Dasye kapi pati, it has been mentioned sravane Pariksit kirtane.... smarane Prahlad pujane Prithu padasevanam Laksmidevi arcanam vandane Akrura sakhye Arjuna, and Dasye kapi pati. So Hanuman has occupied the position of the Dasya rasa Ramachandra.
