Of late, Ive been questioning the utility of awareness and visibility toward disenfranchised groups. I think that the stance of You must acknowledge me is flawed, partly due to its confrontational assertion that is easy to dismiss, and partly because of the profusion of things that people are expected to care about it quickly becomes overwhelming and no one can properly care for anything. We have become diluted by our own diversity. So maybe instead of forcing people to acknowledge things they might not be comfortable with, a better approach could be educating people as to *why* they should care.
