Of our 100 apple tree order, 25 are varieties grafted from the ancient apple forest of Kazakhstan! We pioneered their public introduction, thanks to help from the USDA, NY Department of Agriculture, Cornell University, Cummins Nursery, the U.S. State Department, and the UN Mission of Kazakhstan! Lobbying for apples! :) The USDA and Cornell chose 12 varieties for size, taste, and natural disease resistance.
