Of the 11 that played Paddo first game of the season only 3 - TopicsExpress

Of the 11 that played Paddo first game of the season only 3 featured today giving an array of other club talent their chance to make it 2 wins out of 2 and a double header against our old rivals. Im pleased to say it was yet another fantastic team effort with every single player contributing in one way or another. What was even more pleasing was we stuck at it and at 7-88 it looked like we were heading for a whipping but some calculated and clever batting from James Bannerman, Ollie Taylor and Mike Parker saw us through to 180 all out. Given that Paddo rolled out all their regulars this time it was still a getable total on a small oval. But the boys bowled and fielded their hearts out in the heat to slowly chip away and with the final over, some drama over the correct score to win Paddo still needed 15. Not a chance. Ollie closed the game out bowling perfectly and picking up the final oppo wicket - cue some well deserved celebrations!! A special mention to everyone who fielded like their lives depended on it - as for the bowling take a bow Chris Hancock, 4-40 and a Herculean effort from Marcus Hughes behind the sticks with a great catch and 2 even better stumpings - welcome back old bean! Even this fat lad chipped in with 3-7. Thanks again to all the club members who played today and especially those who were new and/or part time players - you did yourselves proud. So there you have it: 2 games, 2 victories, sets it up nicely for next weeks first cup match...
