Of the $2.43 billion raised for Haiti post earthquake, only one percent made it untouched to the government of Haiti. A larger beneficiary was the US department of defense (defence) who received just under twenty times as much. They spent one million dollars a day of these charitable donations keeping a nuclear powered aircraft carrier moored off Hispaniola and around $3.6 million on helicopter repairs. This is the current face of aid- shaped by American for profit development agencies.
