Of the teachers I had in elementary school, only two vividly stand out to me. Ive been told that you remember the first impression and last impression, so its fitting I remember my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Opicka, and 5th grade teacher, Ryan Long. These two taught me the world, and Im saddened to see one of the greatest influences of my young years pass. To my first theatrical role in Peter Cottontail, to learning about Reading-Writing-and-Arithmetic (and how that ever made the Three Rs), to sharing the wooden pans in our wooden kitchen for playtime, Mrs. O shaped not only mine but thousands of others. Even being so young I remember tons about her. And although she always confused me with Jay Martin, she always made learning fun and exciting. Its sad that no more children will be guided by such a great teacher.
