Ofentse Nato heading to Indian Super League? Reports in South Africa says Bidvest Wits’ Botswana midfielder Ofentse Nato is believed to be amongst the PSL players that will be heading to India for the Super League, which will kick off on September 19. At least three PSL players are heading for the new Indian Super League, which is due to kick-off in September and run up to November. The cash-rich football league will be related to its popular cricket cousin – the Indian Premier League (IPL) – and will feature eight franchises with each team featuring one major marquee signing. The list of big names in line to feature includes William Gallas, Robert Pires, Dwight Yorke, Hernan Crespo, Fredrik Ljunberg, Luis Saha, Adrian Mutu, Alessandro Nesta, Craig Bellamy and Eidur Gudjohnsen. Nato will feature for Atletico de Kolkata, who are coached by former Wits coach Antonio Lopez Habas. According to reports, players will win lucrative two-month contracts ranging from R250 000 to R7.5 million for the marquee signings. The financial muscle of the Indian Super League is turning to be a magnet for famous footballers who are at the end of their playing careers. Franchisees have up to end of Friday to complete the signing of players and present the contracts before the organisers, though some of the franchisees have requested 10-15 day long extension due to the World Cup.
