Office of Sheriff of Gila County J. Adam Shepherd For Immediate Release June 3, 2014 Sheriff J. Adam Shepherd would like to release the following information regarding an inmate attempting to smuggle methamphetamine into the Gila County Jail. On June 2, 2014, at approximately 8:00 p.m. the Gila County Sheriff’s Detention Staff contacted the Gila County Drug, Gang, and Violent Crimes Task Force reporting a suspicious substance found during a search on an inmate during intake in the Gila County Sheriff’s Globe Jail. The Gila County Drug, Gang, and Violent Crimes Task Force responded and identified the substance as Methamphetamine. During the investigation it was learned that inmate Angela Hurst had smuggled approximately (25) grams of Methamphetamines in her bra. Inmate Hurst is being booked into the Jail for Promoting Prison Contraband, Possession of Dangerous Drug for Sale, Possession of Dangerous Drug, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Sheriff J. Adam Shepherd would like to commend the Detention Staff for an outstanding job in thoroughly following intake detention procedures during the booking process of inmate Angela Hurst.
