Officers and admins of Save Animals of Love and Light (Save ALL) - TopicsExpress

Officers and admins of Save Animals of Love and Light (Save ALL) were supposed to meet with the Cainta administrator and the councilor who was assigned by their mayor to supervise pound operations today at 4 pm. in Quezon City. Global Alliance for Anti-Rabies Control or Garc, the non-government organization with a memorandum of agreement with the local government on controlling rabies in the area, arranged a meeting or what they call a dialogue with the two officials and Save ALL admins as early as Saturday. We suddenly got a call just a few minutes ago from a Garc representative that the administrator, a certain Dr. Olga Abellosa, can not make it today. So wala na? I asked. The Garc representative replied yes. We had thought the Cainta local government officials will not back out of the said meeting and finally resolve the following: 1. Lifting on the ban of adoption of dogs as relayed by Ms. Linda Hernandez to volunteers when she informed them Save ALL has been banned form feeding dogs and providing them medical care on Oct. 29. This ban was reiterated by a representative of the councilor on Nov. 6 when admins Eo R. Cedeno and Iamsuper Bellep went to the pound to get Save ALL items like the ceramic bowls for colloidal silver. They left the antibiotics and some dog food. The said representative informed EO and Bellep they are still working on the adoption procedure. This baffled us since we were told before that dogs can be adopted. What happened to the previous procedure? Or are Save ALL volunteers the only persons not allowed to adopt since Ms. Hernandez changed her statement several times: no adoption, only Cainta residents can adopt, and then in this page, she challenged us to adopt the dogs. 2. Lifting on the ban for volunteers to feed dogs nutritious or good food and continue providing medical care as needed. Save ALL need not be authorized to feed (this is kind of weird to me. we need a permit to feed? ). At the very least, we were hoping volunteers can be allowed to go there and feed the dogs, walk the dogs, talk tot he dogs, give meds to the dogs, and donate items the dogs may need. We really dont get it. How can the public-- taxpayers -- be barred from a public facility? We hope the pound staff are feeding the dogs well, treating them well, and the Cainta municipal government will allow adoption of the dogs. These are humane acts. This is in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act and the Anti-Rabies Act. Please pray for the dogs left in the Cainta Dog Pound.
