Officers from the OPP Highway Safety Division (HSD) Aurora Detachment are investigating a two vehicle collision that resulted in one fatality. At approximately 3:10 p.m. on Thursday October 30, a blue Chevrolet Equinox was travelling east on Highway 9 east of 12th Concession in the Township of King. For unknown reasons the lone female driver in the Chevrolet crossed into the westbound lanes and struck a westbound transport truck. The transport truck entered the north ditch and came to rest. The Chevrolet Equinox spun around and came to rest on the south shoulder. The female driver identified as Dena Passero a 44 year old female from Tottenham sustained fatal injuries. The collision is being investigated by Provincial Constable Jason Fischer-Jenssen from the Aurora OPP Detachment with the assistance of the HSD Traffic Support Unit. Any witnesses to the collision or anyone one with information is encouraged to contact the investigating officer at 905-841-5777.
