Official Announcement: As of August 15, 2014, I am no longer owner of the Phoenix Hostel. The past four years have been filled with great fun, lots of successes, and many new opportunities for cultural engagement in Phoenix. Thank you for your love and support through the innovating process!!! I want to thank all of the staff, and there have been many. Without the dedication of these friends and colleagues, the Phoenix Hostel could never have been such a special and vibrant place. To all of those that supported both the hostel and the cultural center…I am deeply grateful! In many ways, the hybrid of hostel and cultural center exceeded my expectations (much the way our events exceeded our capacity!!!). This is the potential of Phoenix; this is the promise of collaboration and risk taking. As to the future of the hostel, it is no longer in my hands. As to the future of cultural expression and production – the SKY is the limit! My work in the arts is jammed packed with ASU and personal projects, and I hope this season sets a new standard for performance and politics with ASU and ASU – Performance in the Borderlands! The last cultural event at the Phoenix Hostel will be Bocafloja’s Book Release/Poetry Night on Sept. 5th, sponsored by ASU – Performance in the Borderlands. Please come support this last cultural HOORAH! History in the MAKING! Our best stories have yet to be told…
