Official Announcement: I will once again operate Union County Dragway for 2015. I realize the rumors that have began since there was an interested buyer for the facility. Of course, everything is for sale but this track is not officially on the market. Curtis Teems and another party were in discussion but that is not the case anymore. Union will continue its dynamic growth in 2015. After a season where we averaged 100 bracket cars, finished 2nd in Division 2 at the bracket finals, and were named Division 2 track of the year, I feel we are on the right path and want nothing more than to improve. Yes there are areas where we need to get better and strive to do so. We are excited to host an IHRA Pro Am event this coming season along with the Steel In Motion Rod Run, amongst many other big events. Everyone knows that I am usually early with posting the new schedule. I will be working with Carolina Dragway and Ware Shoals Dragway during the scheduling process and we will do our best to avoid conflict so the most racer support for all three tracks can be taken advantage of. A mud bog will be added on the left side with ground being broken within the next few weeks. A truck tug of war pad is also in the plans to be used at these truck events. I believe this will be a huge attraction in the Union, Spartanburg, and Columbia area. So help spread the word. I hope to have this part of the facility in operation by February. Union is uniquely laid out with bathrooms and concession buildings along with plenty of clean grass parking on that side of the track to make it hopefully one of the nicest mud bog facilities in that part of the motor sports arena. Other projects will be underway beginning the next few weeks after our awards ceremony weekend on November 22. With everything in place I believe 2015 will be the best year ever at Union County Dragway and I invite everyone to check us out. I will be constantly updating progress on facebook and the website.
