Official Announcement: With regards to the Amateur Flyweight fight between Connor Hitchens and Danny McCloud on Saturday at Budo Fighting Championships 4, the footage has been reviewed and the decision is as follows: Information from both coaches/corners was collated following the event on Saturday evening. After watching the footage several times it was referred to Mark Woodard, a very respected and experienced referee. Having studied the footage Mark and myself were in agreement that we could not see Danny tap to the armbar that was applied by Connor. It would appear that Connor released the hold believing that Danny had tapped and the fight was subsequently stopped for the decision to be questioned by both Danny and his coaches. In light of this, as the event promoter and Budo FC owner, I have overturned the decision and the bout will be scored as a No Contest. Hopefully the return bout can take place on Budo 6 in November however I would respect either party’s decision should they not wish to take the fight. Thanks, Chris.
