Official Chart Update - Close of business Thursday: Theres no change at the top of the singles chart but a very close battle for the albums chart crown according to our first midweek update! On the Albums Chart, we have the same 3 way battle as last week but this week its even closer; Ed Sheeran is currently on course to climb back up a place and reclaim the top spot again! If he manages to stay there on Sunday it will be his 13th week atop the albums countdown with X! Its far from a done deal though, as George Ezras Wanted on voyage is only 600 copies behind as it climbs back up a place to Number 2 at this midweek stage and Sam Smiths In the lonely hour, which scored a fifth week at Number 1 on Sunday is just 600 copies behind George at this midweek stage at Number 3. On the Singles Chart, Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars have a comfortable lead of more than 2 copies to 1 as they head for a fifth week atop the countdown with Uptown funk. Destined to be always the bridesmaid for a third consecutive week is Philip Georges Wish you were mine while Hoziers Take me to church is on course to rise to yet another new peak, Number 3 at this midweek stage. Although 12 songs in the Top 40 are currently heading north (including 2 re-entries), other than Hoziers, only 1 is set to reach a new peak, Echosmiths Cook kids is up to Number 28 at this midweek stage. Thanks to the Itunes 59p sale, Jeremihs Dont tell em re-enters at 32 at this midweek stage. Currently the highest new entry belongs to Sia who is destined for a Number 10 debut with Elastic heart. Besides Sias, Avicciis and Rae Morris, all of this weeks new releases have been linked to album pre-order deals and as their sales have not been counted, their singles chart debuts are on course to be lower than you may have been expecting; Aviciis The Nights is at 21, James Bays Scars is at 40, while bubbling under the Top 40 are Kid Inks Hotel (42), Rae Morris Under The Shadows (48), Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds Ballad Of The Mighty I (69), Fall Out Boys Uma Thurma (68), All Time Lows Somethings Gotta Give (76) and The Prodigys Nasty (88).
