The highly efficient three-wheeled vehicle isnt due until late 2015 (and that may change based on the result of Elios DOE Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing loan request) but we now know that the 84-mpg trike can be connected to the cloud with Infinite Skyzs SkyzMatic vehicle connectivity system option. The cost for all of this connected goodness? Between $1,500 and $2,000. SkyzMatic will allow the $6,800 Elio car (which will get a model name at some point) to give drivers access to features we usually expect from four-wheeled vehicles, things like remote start, a nav system, remote vehicle monitoring as well as in-vehicle VoIP calling and Wi-Fi. Now we know that the passenger will be able to check email while crammed in the back. According to the images on the Infinite Skyz website and the press release below, the SkyzMatic system will be able to transmit data to your smartphone - iOS, Android or Microsoft - and is also compatible with the new Apple Watch. The cost for all of this connected goodness? Elio estimates between $1,500 and $2,000, but we dont know if theres a monthly fee on top of that.
