Official Opening Castlecomer Community Hall August 1995. Opening prayers by Fr Jackie Robinson now P.P. Borris In Ossory. Assisted by newly appointed PP for Castlecomer Mon. Michael Ryan. Fr Jackie (Jackie) was instrumental in getting the Community Hall project off the ground and in addition his work extended into the Castlecomer Development Association where we divided it into four specific parts to complete projects, namely, The Demesne Committee to over see the developemnt of the Discoveryt Park, The Enterprise Committee to proceed with purchase of premises and promote enterprise, Housing for the Elderly Committe which he chaired until his departure and a Tidy Towns Committee. He was an inspiration and i was privilaged to work with him on each of these projects. I note from a post on facebook yesterday that he had done similar work in St Patricks Parish during his tenure there.
