Official press release for WIZARD: gypsylifter/updates/item/wizard-press-release On Feb 22 2014, Kentucky based rock band, gypsyLifter officially released “Wizard”, the bands 1st full length album which was recorded in Bowling Green, Ky over the course of 2013. The album includes nine original tracks primarily written by singer/songwriter Chad Estes (White Plains, Ky) with music contributions from guitarist Mike Miller (St. Charles, Ky.), the late Landon Miller (White Plains, Ky) on bass, and drummer Randy Stone (Madisonville, Ky) to form a 49 minute piece of what the band believes to be timeless rock and roll in its purest form. Not one song included on Wizard sounds like the rest. The bands wide range of influences definitely carries over to create an album with a somewhat familiar yet overall unique sound worthy of listening to from start to finish with no “filler” what so ever. Like most classic rock acts that have stood the test of time over the last 50 years, the band incorporates bits and pieces of everything from the most basic folk type melodies to adrenaline fueled monster guitar riffs with even a touch of the psychedelic at times. This description still does not cover the true diversity of the album, but do not be fooled by keywords specific to any certain genre. The band somehow manages to incorporate the various styles and influences into a well rounded package that never really strays too far in any particular direction leaving you with once again, rock and roll in its purest form. GypsyLifter recently did a guest spot opening for Universal South recording artist, Shooter Jennings Official this past November at Spillway Bar and Grill in Bowling Green, Ky. as a one off show in preparation for the bands official launch party which took place in Madisonville, Ky on Feb 22. Joining GypsyLifter at the launch party were close friends and also Kentucky natives @Steppin Stone from Nortonville, Ky, and The Drunken Poets from Murray, Ky. The band rented a private venue for the show while still managing to generate a huge turnout, and was deemed a great success for everyone involved. GypsyLifter is currently booking for the end of spring and summer 2014, and will also be supporting The Drunken Poets for their CD launch party on Sat March 22 at Bootleg Lounge in Murray along with yet another Kentucky based band, Savage Radley.
