Officially, we are Blackies guardians until he fully recovers. Im open to adopting him if the dog can adjust to us as well. Two days ago, I walked him around several blocks and got several leads as to what happened to him: 1. Some crazy bastard tried to kill him with an airgun. 2. A vehicle ran over him (as to whether it was before or after the shooting is unclear up to this point). 3. His x-ray reveals a foreign object left in his broken elbow (probably the shrapnel/pellet of the airgun). When I found out, I shared the information with his rescuers, Tyler and Rui, and we all decided to have Blackies incident reported to the police for animal cruelty which is punishable under Philippine law with a prison sentence and fine. The only problem is we have yet to identify the perpetrator and piece together the entire story. The cool thing about reporting a crime like this one: the police did show up and they did check out the area where Blackie was rescued and promised to pursue our complaint and investigate. So, right now, wait and see lang kami... and I get to be caregiver and guardian to an otherwise very lucky dog. LUCKY BLACKIE.
