Offshore Fashion ~ Fragrance Friday My friend, Sarge Bruno - TopicsExpress

Offshore Fashion ~ Fragrance Friday My friend, Sarge Bruno sampling fragrances in Sephora, Champs-Elysées, Paris reminded me to post reviews of some fragrance purchased a few weeks ago, that I have been meaning to. I thought that I would step out of the comfortable Lancôme zone and any fragrance that I had gotten in the past. The very first fragrance I bought, well I didn’t quite leave my comfort zone: Carolina Herrera New York Women. I bought this fragrance before but left it in GA and oh well, I really really like this fragrance. It is so very happy. The Experts: Femininity, luxury, elegance, timelessness, emotion. It is without a doubt, a genuine classic, enveloped in an aura of prestige. This fragrance is the essence of Carolina Herreras style, recommended for everyday use. The top notes are elegant jasmine and refined tuberose. The base consists of warm wood and amber. The fragrance was released in 1998. Carolina Herrera was launched in 1988. If I am to try new fragrances, which this whole shopping was about I reminded myself – the others that I bought must totally be new. They were: Nina by Nina Ricci ~ I can’t liken Nina’s fragrance to any (even the one that I bought back in the 90’s). Some fragrance you can tell the leading notes- with hers I couldn’t place it. I liked it. The Experts: Nina is a new modern fairytale fragrance aimed at younger audience. Nina is an elegant floral-fruity gourmand fragrance, the scent of candied fruits. The composition starts sparkly and spontaneous, just like a carefree laughter with the fresh citrus notes of lemon and lime. The sweet gourmand heart is juicy and caramelly due to candied apple, praline note and vanilla whose opulent veil wraps the softly sweet peony and the Moonflower. Finally the apple tree, white cedar and balmy musk notes are touching your skin with their warmth and soft sensuality. The fragrance was created by Olivier Cresp and Jacques Cavallier in 2006. The new Nina fragrance has replaced the old one with the same name, created in 1987. Chanel No. 5 ~ This is such a contrary fragrance. I have had this on my list for the longest time. In the store, on the sample card it was gorgeous just like the other times that I sampled it and what sort of beckoned me to buy it, but at home on my skin – it didn’t quite…perhaps it doesn’t play well with BBW lotion. Sigh. I don’t know – I’ll give it another try (on unscented oiled skin as opposed to lotion). The Experts: Chanel No. 5 is more than just a perfume, it’s a way of life. Nothing says class, sophistication, and refined taste than this little glass bottle created over 90 years ago. Timeless in its beauty, its integrity, its Parisian style, and its uncompromised quality. After all these years, Chanel No. 5 is not only still one of the best selling perfumes in the world, but it still represents everything complex, elegant, chic, and powerful of a woman with unwavering beauty and intelligence. Just like the classic Chanel jacket, this fragrance is a symbol of a real woman; a woman who knows who she is, where she’s going, and exactly how to get there. To be continued.
