Offshore: With only a small, two-foot swell expected this weekend, anglers will once again have a shot at red snapper. Federal waters are open to the harvest of reds today through Sunday at midnight. Last weekend, many crews found good fishing on ledges and hard-bottom areas between 80 and 160 feet. Most fish preferred dead bait fished on light leaders, but Sebastian anglers were able to catch live bait right outside the inlet. Light current made anchoring simple. Those chumming with cut bait or fresh anchovies on the 80- to 90-foot main ledges were able to freeline baits for mangrove snapper to 10 pounds.
