Often in animal welfare, change is slow; it can often feel like we take one step forward and 2 steps backward. With community s/n, the change is often so gradual, it goes unnoticed until someone brings it to your attention. When a woman who works in downtown Kingston asked Deborah with AKI partner organization, Kingston Community Animal Welfare, where are the dogs?? Deborah knew she was making progress. Deborah says, After 10 years of persistent spaying and neutering the stray animal population has diminished significantly, and continues to shrink. From Fleet Street, to Rae Town and into the commercial area of Port Royal Street and its environs, the stray dog population is being controlled.” But as these pictures show, there are still plenty of street dogs (and cats) that need to be fed and plenty of puppies that are still being born on the streets of Kingston. AKIs partner organization KCAW needs support to build on the success, and to keep the street dog and cat population going in the right direction...downward! IF YOUD LIKE TO HELP KINGSTONS STREET DOGS AND CATS, DONATIONS TO AKI SHOULD BE DESIGNATED FOR KCAW. THANK YOU!
