Often times Im horrible at effective communication; I dont listen well... especially in an argument, debate, disagreement, or times I just want to tune you out. Instead of listening to understand, I listen to rebuttal and that makes me ineffective in trying to resolve any type of dispute or problem. However, while reading Proverbs this morning, the importance of listening came to me in this scripture: A wise man will hear and increase learning. And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel. -Proverbs 1:5 So, what I got from this is, in order to be a person of understanding and one of good counsel I must seek wisdom from God. And according to the scripture, you become wise when you hear and increase your knowledge. By doing these things, you learn to hear from God and others...one day becoming the wise counsel you once sought. Thank you Lord for your word. I pray you work with me and whoever may need/read this message to hear, increase, and obtain wisdom. Let me listen to understand so I can be that woman of wisdom. Amen. -Shenique
