Often times as a photographer, THINGS occur unexpectedly while photographing a wedding and accidents do happen! Tonight I had the honor of photographing a beautiful wedding – Chelsea Neill and Clif Lackey and while doing so, I had my FIRST little wedding mishap! The lights were dim and the aisle was adorned with a thick row of white rose petals and candles. The petals line the inner aisle and every other opening had a square beveled mirror along with three multiple height pillar white candles, it was gorgeous! As each of the wedding party entered the sanctuary I would step out into the aisle, take a shot, then move back to allow them to pass. However, one time instead of stepping DIRECTLY back into my spot, I took a step FORWARD! Just as I started to move back into place, all of a sudden it happened! Candles and wax went flying all over the place! I started laughing quietly to myself and I looked around at some of the folks I knew and they were about to bust-out laughing! It was pretty funny to say the least! After the wedding, Clif told me that was one of the funniest things ever, especially my reaction! I am just thankful I did NOT catch the church and/or my pants on FIRE, talk about a FIREY EXPERIENCE! All and all, everything worked out just great! I still laugh about it, because honestly, these type things DO happen regardless of the situation! I am GLAD I had the opportunity to take part in this new beautiful chapter in their life and I wish them much PEACE, LOVE, and HAPPINESS from now until the end even though I about burned the church down! LOL!
