Often times parents write me asking solutions for when their child is being bullied because they feel they cannot reach them. I have realized the best advice I can give, if possible, getting a pet for them is like getting them an unconditional friend. It was such an amazing thing my parents did for me regardless of if they realized it or not. Fat guy passing was one of those things where I really had to drop everything and go back to my parents and be there for it. There have been times when was alone in my past, and now I am lucky enough to have so many great people by my side- but he was always such an important thing in my life and because of this, the pain is inevitable. Although Monday felt like the most painful day I can remember it was well worth the 15 years of friendship and the best day of my life, when I got him that Christmas morning.
