Often we issue news releases to let everyone know of a recent crime committed that we are currently investigating. It is always nice to let everyone know when our investigations result in the conviction of criminals who have taken offensive actions against our residents. We are happy to report the Press Release we issued February 12, 2014 concerning an aggravated burglary at 1560 Madison Avenue in Painesville Township was brought partially to a close yesterday when Eric Fortune, a 25 year old, was convicted and sentenced to 19 years in prison for robbing and beating a Painesville Township man at gunpoint in the victims home. His brother and accomplice Kalvin Kangas will go to trial on November 12th.
