Ogbomoso in diaspora mourns the death of Nigerian Civil War Veteran, Gen. Benjamin Adekunle Ogbomoso indigenes in diaspora, Ogun state chapter has commiserated with their brothers in America, Europe and Canada as well as in the Asian countries on the death of Black Scorpion of Africa, Retired General Benjamin Adekunle who died Saturday morning in his sleep at the age of 78. A statement issued and signed yesterday in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital by coordinator of the Ogun state chapter of Ogbomoso in Diaspora, Akindele omo Alade Akin Alade and the groups chairman of Council of Elders in Ogun, Wale Jokotoye explained that appropiate date for the celebration of the Civil War Veteran would be communicated to lovers of this great Nigerian. The group also commiserated with all our Royal fathers back at home: the Soun of Ogbomoso; the Olugbon of Orile -Igbon, the Aresa of Iresadu, the Onpetu of Ijeru, the Alajaawa of Ajaawa as well as other sons and daughters of Ogbomoso on the death of the retired General. General Adekunles death occurred exactly a year after the Ogun state Police Command lost one of its finest and gallant officer in charge of Anti Crime, Fola Ogunkoya who died in a ghastly auto crash along the Abeokuta-Siun-Sagamu expressway.
