Ogun NGO cautions politicians against “politics of bitterness” A Non-Governmental Organisation, NGO, based in Ogun State, Rebuilders has called on the politicians in the state to shun “politics of bitterness” and join hands with the state governor, Ibikunle Amosun for the betterment of the state. The NGO made this call in a statement made available to journalists in Abeokuta and signed by its coordinator, Sheriff Alani. Rebuilders lauded the infrastructural development in the state initiated by Mr. Amosun. It stated that the governor is leaving nobody in doubt of the genuineness of his mission to truly rebuild Ogun State. It added that the infrastructural remodelling of the state is unmatched by any embarked on by past administrations. “Looking at the on-going numbers and quality of projects in the state which no state government of the federation can match, one would be forced to ask if there has been no government in the state until now,” the statement said. The NGO noted that within two years of his governance, Mr. Amosun had matched his words with action which is evident in his urban renewal, rural and infrastructural development projects. The organisation pointed out that, apart from Abeokuta which is witnessing massive transformation and outlook, the on-going 107km Ijoun/Egua/Ilara/Oja-Odan road in Ogun West senatorial district is unprecedented in the history of the gateway state, with a capacity to open up the rural areas for further development. It stated that it is convinced that the roads will not only add to the physical upliftment of the state but will also pave way for industrialisation which will subsequently generate employment opportunities for its teeming youths. The statement described the work on the Ijebu-Ode flyover bridges as a long overdue considering the wanton waste of lives and property at the Ejinrin junction of the town which was caused by auto crashes on the highway.
